Have you ever dreamed of being able to spin a soundtrack together like a DJ? Many of my friends in high school and college were into spinning as a hobby. If there is one thing I learned is it can be an expensive hobby to have and time consuming to get good at. The equipment needed can cost hundreds to thousands of dollars. So it stands to reason that if you invest that kind of money you’re probably pretty serious about becoming a good DJ and maybe even making some income off of it. Fortunately there are cheaper options available to the posers like myself who simply wish to play around with DJ capabilities without all of the money and time investment.
abcDJ is an app available on the iPhone and iPod touch which gives you the ability to spin music like a DJ right in the palm of you hand.
- 2 Analog Players
- These 2 players can play songs you have sent from your PC
- Real time pitch controls
- Super realistic scratches
- Two turn tables
- CD Player
- It plays your songs in your iPod library
- Over 50 built in effect sounds like horns, guns, car crash and so on
- You can mix above 4 sound sources independently
- Also you can cross fade these 2 analog players sounds
I found acbDJ to be a fun app for playing around with basic DJ capabilities right on your iPhone. There are other DJ style apps available, but most are more expensive then abcDJ so it’s worth a download for the money. I would like to see some improvements to both the interface and intructions/directions available. It takes a bit of a learning curve to understand how all of the features work. The layout isn’t extremely intuitive, atleast to a DJ newbie like myself. For that reason much more descriptive help and instructions should be included within it. None the less if you like to play around with music then abcDJ might be up your alley.
