What would you do if someone broke into your home, stole your most valuable possessions, and you just happened to know exactly who did it? You’d probably get angry and go kick some $%$ like OJ! Well, in the new game Angry Birds by Clickgamer Technologies LTD, this is exactly what happens. You see, these goofy looking green pigs suddenly decided that they’d love to munch on some eggs so they viciously stole all of the birds eggs in the land. Obviously the birds aren’t going to just lay down and take it so they’ve teamed together in an effort to go get their eggs back! To do so the Angry Birds begin to hunt down the green pigs. They locate their fortified hideaways one at a time and using a slingshot hurl themselves kamikaze style directly into them. The Angry Birds’ goal is to demolish these structures, taking out each and every green pig in the process.
Angry birds is a nice combination of fun, challenge, cuteness, and strategy. The deeper you advance in the game the more precise and strategic you have to be with your play. There are different sizes of birds and different qualities of structures. Each with their own strengths and weaknesses. Some birds are smaller and faster, but inflict less damage, while larger birds travel with less grace, but inflict cataclysmic damage. As far as structures go, they’re as much obstacles as they are protection. To take them out you’ve got to perfectly place birds into their weak spots in order to take them out. When attacking a structure you need to account for the green pigs hidden inside. Some structures are so strong and well protected that you’ll never take the whole thing out so you need to take out precise weight bearing parts in order to collapse it on top of the green pigs protected within.
Overall I liked everything about this app. The game-play is easy to figure out, but is by no means easy to play, especially as you advance in the game. The graphics are great, the characters are fun and full of personality, and the sound effects couldn’t fit the game any better. Not to mention there are a ton of levels to ensure that you have hours upon hours of Angry Birds goodness. The game is very addictive and demands proper technique and strategy to advance. If you think you can just launch birds haphazardly from the slingshot and dominate you need to think again. There’s an Angry Birds Lite version that you can download for free to see what the game is all about. In my opinion the full app is where it’s at. You definitely shouldn’t hesitate to snatch it up!
