Crossroads

Crossroads is a very simplistic game released for iPhone by a company called AterEGO. The strategy is simple: CROSS THE ROAD AS FAST AS YOU CAN! Tap the screen to get the character started. Once the green blob character is initiated you must navigate him safely to the other side of the road. Along the journey you will find certain paths that move you left and right, making the journey that much more challenging. Avoid the obstacles successfully to make it to the other side, then rack up the POINTS!

The main purpose of the game is to gain as many points as possible. As you complete the levels, you will come across a variety of game scenes, as well as different obstacles to overcome like cars, panzers and even ghosts. The graphics in the game itself are decent. We do like the creative load screen and main menu graphics. The character has a likable-fun-feel about him, even though he looks like a piece of candy with a cartoon face!

All in all we found Crossroads all too familiar and simply not original enough to stand on its own in the heavily competitive games category. The game is very similar to the classic aracde hit Frogger, and while Crossroads did mix the gameplay up a bit by moving paths, a new character, and different obstacles, in the end it falls short. The controls are pretty much non-existent. You only have one thing to do, tap the screen and get the character to advance forward. You have no side to side control. This limited movement, along with only one direction to go, left us wanting more.

If you are a die hard Frogger fan and love classic arcade style gaming, then Crossroads could be a game that interests you. We would recommend the free LITE version of Crossroads to try out first before you purchase the full version. The LITE version will give you a feel of the gameplay. If you like it then purchase the FULL version and get access to 3 different game modes, easy, normal, and crazy. Take your  green blob character to the streets and get moving or you will become roadkill!
