Defend London, developed by Luis Evaristo Rodriguez Campos is a new game app available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. In it you are thrown into the Defense of London, England in World War II. Take control over Planes, anti-aircraft, jeeps, commandos and bombers as you fight off the Nazi invasion.
What I like about Defend London is it’s a great concept for a game. There is a nice variation with being able to control multiple modes of play. From flying in the air dog fighting with Nazi planes to driving jeeps over rugged terrain, it’s got it all. Unfortunately, for me this is where the positives ended. The graphics are sub par at best, lacking the detail I expect to see in newer generation apps. In addition I found the game play to be extremely difficult. The joystick controls are near impossible to master. Lastly, the levels seem to lack clear and distinct mission objectives. Without this you find your self drifting around aimlessness fighting.
There is a Defend London 3D Lite version available in the iTunes App Store so you can try it out without having to spend a dime. If your have an interest in aviation games specifically you may enjoy Defend London.
