If you’re building a new place, fancy yourself an interior designer, or just love to checkout new and fresh design ideas you may want to take a peek at the new Lifestyle app Dream Home. Created by Apalon, this app is filled with decorating ideas for every room in the house. Whether you’re looking to go ultra modern, bold and bright, dark and dreary, or completely neutral, you’re likely to find just the inspiration you need inside this convenient little app.
Dream Home is like having a years worth of home decorating magazines, minus the words and ads, neatly packaged into your iPhone / iPod touch. You can finger through an inventory of design ideas for your living room, bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and kids room, and can get specific by viewing images based on color preference and style. If you’re a visual person like I am then you don’t need all the unnecessary words and ads that magazines have to offer, you just need the pics!
Dream Home is super easy to navigate and use. From the home page you can simply touch and scroll to view design ideas by room. There’s a top menu that allows you to view design ideas by color, style, recent, popular, and favorite. As far as styles go, Dream Home offers images for traditional, modern, contemporary, country, Art Deco, shabby chic, Tuscan, and cultural styles, so no matter what you’re taste you’ll be able to garner a few solid design ideas from this app. If you come across something you like can tag it as a favorite for easy return viewing. In a nutshell, Dream House is a convenient home decor reference guide that you can take with you anywhere (hardware store, paint store, appliance store, furniture store, etc).
Overall Dream Home is a visually appealing and well put together app. I found the images to load reasonably quick and the layout of the app to be very user friendly. There were a few things that I really wanted to be in the app that don’t exist currently. Although there are some wonderful pics and filtering options, the number of pics and filtering options is on the slim side for a paid app. I would like to see a lot more images and room ideas (game room, media room, outdoor patio, etc.). I’d also like to be able to select colors from a color pallet, select a style from a number of style options, pick a room, and see specific design ideas for those colors and that style and room. Something perhaps worth adding down the road would be the ability for users to upload their ”after” pics.

Very detailed review – i downloaded the app and can agree with every word. The app is very slick – I'm in love with it from the first sight. Hopefully my new home will look like one of these featured in the app
