Ducked Up!

Here’s a creative game that combines rubber ducks, wind tunnels and wild n’ wacky obstacles! Ducked Up! by AlphaSprite just hit the App Store and this is one you’ll want to keep an eye on. It’s challenging and addictive game play mixed with physics based action require clever problem solving skills and quick reflexes. Navigate the little rubber duckies though treacherous  puzzle twisting obstacles and guide them safely into the tunnel.

Ducked Up! provides a refreshing new twist on physics-based game play. Tap and swipe anywhere on the screen to create air flow (or a wind tunnel). The flow of air travels in the direction which you swipe, so plan accordingly. You only get a limited number of wind tunnels per level so make sure each one is strategically placed and in optimum location. If for some reason you want to reposition the wind tunnels, simply shake the device to reset your swirling vortex.

As you place the wind tunnels, the ducks begin to fly out in a line. Intercept the ducks with the wind tunnels and guide them safely to the other side, avoiding dangerous obstacles along the way. The game allows you to interact with other elements like bombs, rocks and other moveable objects. This extra dimension of interaction provides added appeal and also helps mix up the game play.

There is a wonderful variety of fun and wacky levels, ranging from bath-tubs to Ancient Greece. The difficulty of the game is just challenging enough to keep your interest; not too hard but at the same time not easy. Of course you also have 3 levels of difficulty to select from in case you become the master duck navigator and want to try the hard setting. I played on normal an found the game to be pretty challenging at times so don’t think your going to breeze through it.

To recap, I think Ducked Up! is a great game with colorful and engaging levels, unique physics-based game play, and a fun overall theme. It has great menu design, it’s easy to pick up, and has good replay appeal. It’s priced right and should be a great pick up if you are into puzzles and problem solving games. Add in a splash of fun with rubber ducks and you have a winner!
