Dude Deluxe

Dude Deluxe is an entertainment app recently released by The App Company, LLC. The Big Lebowski would get a kick outta this one! This app is very basic, though i must admit curiosity got the best of me as i found myself compelled to repeatedly press the big red DUDE button. The app developer’s claim is simple: “Laugh out loud with the most versatile and popular word in the English language, “Dude”.

The functionality is summed up in one sentence: Press the BIG RED DUDE BUTTON and hear recorded phrases of the word “Dude”. Every time you press the button, you will get a different recording. dude, dUdE,, DuDe, DUDEEE!!! From the stoned surfer expression, to the swanky chick, the Dude button delivers. It was amusing attempting to decipher what each Dude recording really meant. From my personal interpretation I heard the “DUDE, i can’t believe you just ate the last piece of pizza“, or the “DUDE, what on earth are you doing here?“, OR what about the “DUDE, come on, i don’t have all day, move your a@@!“

Dude Deluxe offers additional features like:

Save any Dude recording as a custom iPhone ring-tone
Send any Dude recording as an MP3 file to friends
Set Dude timers and alarms
Dude bomb attack mode: Surprise friends and family with a triggered Dude phrase once the phone is moved

The graphic design is edgy and the app menu is very easy to understand. Dude Deluxe is a good app if you use it for the right purpose, though its possible that this app may strike some of you out there as not having enough features or a rather useless app to own. While we can understand that point of view, we think the app does its job for what it has set out to accomplish. Features like dude images (flamboyant characters to accompany the different recordings), or the ability to select from a list of preset Dude recordings so the users could instantly pick a specific Dude phrase on cue could add additional value to the app. Dude, don’t delay, go grab Dude Deluxe from the App Store today!
