Free iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad App Promo Codes for Fugu Maze

Find your way out of the maze with just your footsteps and a flashlight to guide you. Don’t let the suspense sound effects make you nervous.

The 3D maze is regenerated randomly each time, with different layouts, wall textures, and skies (you’ll have to find the exit to see that).

Features a first-person view and a dual thumb control: left thumb on the translucent button moves you forward while the right thumb drags on the screen to turn.

Technicat, LLC was kind enough to provide us with free promo codes for Fugu Maze.  As always we encourage you to provide an honest iTunes review as a thank you to the developer for providing the codes. Thanks and enjoy!

I just tried playing and it makes my phone freeze and I have to force it to reboot :-(

    • Ryan Johnson says:

It’s always a good idea to reboot after downloading apps. Let us know how it goes after your reboot. Cheers!

Pink2, let me know (here or elsewhere, e.g. on the Facebook page) if you encounter more freezes (and if possible, your device model and OS, e.g. 2nd-gen iPod touch, iOS 3.13). I've seen one other report of device freezing with this app. I built it with Unity 3.0, currently in beta, which for example might be taking more memory, so if there are problems, I can make another build when I have updated middleware.

BE CAREFUL with app!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As mentioned earlier, and this may only apply to those with iOS4 installed, it will freeze your device. I had to reboot and delete it. For a few minutes, I thought this game had bricked my 3G 32 GB iTouch. Terrible. The dev should have provided some kind of warning. This type of blatant irresponsibility should be noted. I'm not buying anything in the future from this dev.

Thanks for the details. I develop and test on a 2nd-gen iPod touch and iPad with the latest OS, but this release was submitted before iOS4 came out (the App Store submission page actually has a checkbox asking if it’s been tested with iOS4, but apparently it doesn’t display anything on the App Store). I’ll upgrade my iPod touch to iOS4 this weekend and see if I can replicate the problem.

  8. technicat says:

I've reproduced a freeze on my 2nd-gen iPod touch after updating to iOS4. It happens after playing the first suspense sound. The suspense sounds are mp3-encoded and uncompressed on the fly so that may be the problem (the footstep sounds work for me and I believe they are uncompressed). I'll try to get an update for iOS4 out soon.

Thanks for taking the time to keep in touch with the community on the problem. Sounds like you’re on top of it. I hope everyone else can please be patient and let them fix this minor bug. It’s a process moving over to iOS4 and issues like this can pop up. Keep us up to date on the status and I’ll put an update in the post.

    • Pink2 says:

Thank you for responding to this, I look forward to your update.

    • technicat says:

I just submitted an update with the suspense sounds uncompressed. That adds a few megabytes to the app size but otherwise seems OK and avoids the crash. Usually it takes just a few days for an update to get approved, but you never know. Since I built this with the latest dev tools from Apple, it runs on iOS4 and the iPad (iOS 3.2) but no longer on the older OS's (I guess they really want everyone to upgrade – at least it's free this time for iPod touch users, but 1st gen device owners are out of luck)

      • technicat says:

Oops, I misspoke – looks like I missed some backward-compatibility settings for older OS's. But I'll leave this update alone since it's just for iOS4 users, anyway, and I'll have to think about whether to support older OS's in the future since I'm not testing on them, anymore.

Just getting back from vacation & thought I'd slap in a few reviews & dl's- these codes are all taken… Save a few folks the efforts.

  10. technicat says:

An update for iOS4 is on the App Store. Should fix the crashes.
