Are You Macho?

Post Rating

I don’t know about you, but as each year passes it seems like more and more guys are turning in their man card.  Nowadays dudes are making hair appointments at salons and wearing skin tight designer clothing, ultra clean shoes, and freshly pressed pants to the grocery store.  What ever happened to changing your own oil, wearing the same clothes 5 times in a week, and impressing the ladies through ruggedness and testosterone?  Well, with the Are You Macho? app you can find out if you still deserve to hold a man card.  Have you followed the trend of stylish hair and flaw concealing make up or are you a manly man that rolls out of bed and chooses their outfit by what’s available on the floor and smells the best?  Stop living in denial and man up!  Are You Macho?

Are You Macho?

Created by Hipsy LLC, Are You Macho? provides three different ways to measure your manhood.  You can choose from Express, 20 Questions, and Man Card Challenge mode.  Each is essentially a quiz to determine your overall manliness.  I myself prefer the Man Card Challenge because if you’re man enough after the quiz you’re presented with your official man card.  Included on the back of the card is a list of things that call for it’s immediate revoking (ex. crying in public).

Are You Macho?

The quizzes ask basic questions like “Do you own designer shoes?”, “Have you ever checked out another man?”, and “Do you give women very detailed compliments?”, and along the way increases your man strength if you give a macho answer.  Each question answered with a manly reply increases your Man Strength, which is represented by a flexing arm.  Each person starts out with a piddly stick of an arm and as their Man Strength increases so does their bulging bicep.

Are You Macho? is actually a pretty funny app.  Some of the questions generated a smirk, and the images at times made me chuckle.  For example, in 20 Questions you’re paired against Chester, you’re friendly neighborhood manly man.  The object is to finish with a higher man score than Chester, and lucky for me I did.  As any competitively minded man would do, Chester aknowledged my win and then graciously said, “I’m still better than you man.  Just ask your lady!”.  HAHA!

Are You Macho?

Overall Are You Macho? is a pretty decent app.  I’ll be honest, it’s a one and dunner kind of app.  You’ll run through it once and probably never do it again for yourself, but where it has lasting value is sharing it with friends, passing it around around the room at a party as an attention getter, things like that.  Girls seem to find it pretty funny.  So yeah, at $0.99 you’re not breaking the bank in any way to get it, so if you secretly question your manhood or are looking for a pretty funny conversation starter then you should checkout Are You Macho?  As far as features go, I’d like to see Facebook and Twitter integration added to it down the road because honestly what’s better than sharing your man score with your peeps.

Are You Macho?

Pros:

  • What’s not cool about earning your man card
  • Fun to pass around at parties; good conversation starter

Cons:

  • Is a one and done type app; you won’t use it over and over
  • Wish it had Facebook and Twitter integration
