Play 10K

Post Rating

Get inside from the hot sun and play some dice on your iPhone! With Play 10K you can play a competitive game of dice against the iPhone, or up to 8 of your friends.  Give your iPhone a shake to roll the dice.  Keep shaking and the dice will continue to roll. Once settled, tap each die that you want to keep, and then tap the screen to roll the remaining die again.  As you’d expect, 1′s are worth 100 pts, and 5′s are worth 50 pts, and combinations of 3, 4, or all 5 dice & straights are worth 1,000 pts.  Games can go up to 5,000 pts or 10,000 pts, it’s your choice. You can even choose from a variety of different colored die, and backgrounds. Choose from green felt, die themed, stone, rug, horizon, and wood floor backgrounds to get just the look you’re going for. Never worry again about people fudging their score.  Play 10K’s auto score sheet ensures everyone’s score is legit!

Overall Play 10K is a pretty good dice game for the iPhone.  Aside from a few minor blips we experienced during our rigorous testing process the app furnctioned well.  We determined that the app appears to have some inconsistencies related to rigorous shaking.  The shaking function appeared to work as expected during most dice rolling attempts, however there were a few instances where the dice settled while we were still shaking, and on occasion we noticed that only a partial die (half of a dice) would display after the dice had settled.

Play 10K iPhone App Review

Aside from these extremely minor issues, the app functioned flawlessly.  We want you to know that these issues are extremely minor, and overall don’t really impact the app’s playability, but we thought they were still worth mentioning.  There are a few enhancements that we think would take Play 10K to the next level.  The interface and sound effects for the app are rather basic.  It might be nice to see these enhanced a bit in future versions.  Another excellent upgrade would be to incorporate a more complex throwing motion to toss the dice.   More skilled dice players very deliberately choose how to hold and toss their dice.  We feel that an enhancement that allows a user to hold, situate, and toss the dice would appeal more to dice enthusiasts.

If you’re big into dice, then why not toss ‘em in your free time on your iPhone. Learn more about Play 10K at the official website, download the lite version (coming soon) for a free trial, or head straight to the App Store now to download yours now!
