Denver, Colorado – Third Chicken today is pleased to announce their 4th of July release, Shake the States for iPhone 1.0, has earned a place in Apple’s New & Noteworthy category. The app, a US geography game, was created from a partnership with ZunZun Books. It was conceived when the president of ZunZun Books, Bernadette Szost, was reflecting on her past move from Great Britain to the United States. She recalls buying a wooden US puzzle to help introduce herself to the culture and geography of the US.
Special features have been added to the game to accommodate for the smaller iPhone screen, making the game as fun and educational as the iPad version. The New England States and Mid-Atlantic states are designed to enlarge for presentation and then shrink to orient themselves correctly on the map. State names are pronounced when the puzzle pieces are selected for placement on the game board. Level 2 presents a game board without the state’s outlines, challenging even adults. Kids enjoy watching adults play Level 2, making it a multi-generational game. The iPad version has been a popular product with the elementary schools since February 2011.
