Sticky Licky by Vision Wise Inc. is a simple and fun retro-style arcade game that’s sure to be a big hit with both kids and adults. It’s catch the flies on your sticky tongue game play reminded us a lot of a cross between the 80’s classics Frogger and Duck Hunt. Flies fly scatterbrained around the screen as bees bob and weave in between them. It’s your job to feed your frog by catching all of the flies in the swamp on your extremely long tongue, while at the same time managing to avoid as many bees and dive-bombing mosquitos as possible! To eat flies, simply angle your iPhone left or right to aim and then tap your frog to fire it’s sticky tongue.
The objective of Sticky Licky is simple; earn as many points as you can without dying. To earn points and survive you have to catch as many flies as possible while avoiding bee stings and mosquito bites. Mosquitos drop out of the sky, fall on you, and bite you. To avoid losing energy you must eat them while they’re still in the air. Bees don’t hurt you unless you eat them. If you do eat one, it immediately drains your energy and temporarily restricts your tongue so you can’t reach any flies.
To assist you in your fly gobbling quest, there are special bugs that appear and give you added protection against your pesky enemies. Dragonflies give you the biggest boost. Whenever you snag one of those bad boys you’re temporarily immune to any bee stings, freeing you up to eat as many bees as you can before it wears off. Bees are worth the most points so when immune, gobble ‘em up!
After reading our description you probably think that figuring out how to play Sticky Licky would be easy right? Well, it is! People of any age can pick up Sticky Licky and immediately start having fun with it. When playing Sticky Licky we breazed through the game until we hit the 100,000 point mark. After that the bees became greater in number and got much craftier, the mosquitos got sneakier, and the dragonflies only liked to come out when it was risky to go after them. When you get to this point in the game bees bob and weave like Mohammed Ali in his prime, and mosquitos perform their best impression of a World War II kamikaze pilot. You’ve got to become a crafty fly catching tongue sniper in order to survive. It’s critical you master the proper aiming and timing of your tongue strikes or your game will end in a heartbeat!
Overall we found Sticky Licky to be a good game for people of all ages. The images, sounds, and graphics are simple and friendly. It’s the type of game that you’ll likely turn to frequently as a time killer, while also secretly obsessing about beating your previous high score. Download Sticky Licky from the App Store today!
