Tap Tap Revenge 3

It’s been amazing to watch Tapulous, Inc. continuously improve on their Tap Tap Revenge suite of games over the years, and Tap Tap Revenge 3 is no exception.  This app not only is the creme de la creme of the Tapulous suite of apps to date, but it comes at the completely unbeatable price of FREE!  With custom character/avatar creation, unbeatable interactive online game-play, a deep list of free songs, a nearly bottomless selection of tracks that you can earn, and an ever changing chameleon like backgrounds and effects, Tap Tap Revenge 3 is nothing short of impressive.

As with all previous Tap Tap Revenge games, your eyes and tipity tapping fingers do all the work in this one.  Choose from easy, medium, and hard difficulty consisting of all of your favorite jams and popular music.  Classics, new releases, you name it, Tap Tap Revenge 3 has it.  I’d put the whole list of songs here for you but then my review would be a mile long.  Let’s face it, when it comes to gaming on an iPhone/iPod Touch, it’s hard to beat jamming out to your favorite tunes while furiously tapping to the beat.  Watching the game react to your precision makes you feel like a rock star.

There’s something about the combination of great music and games that’s a recipe for addiction.   Every time I pick this app it sucks me in.  Playing 1 and 2 player modes is fun, but nothing beats online play.  It never ceases to amaze me how much butter other people at this game than I am.  I can crank out in single player mode like a champ, accomplishing goal after goal, higher score after higher score, finally thinking I’m ready to conquer the world, and almost every time I venture into the global arena I get my #$% handed to me!  Come on people, don’t you have a life!  You must play this 10 hours a day!  LOL, just playin (but seriously you must be).  New with Tap Tap Revenge 3 are weapons that you and your opponents can fire at one another during online play.  It definitely adds another dimension to the challenge and to the fun.  When met with weapons like flash bombs, dead silence, and green goo splashing across your screen it’s easy to be distracted.  You’ve got to concentrate like a champ to stay on top of your game!

It’s seriously next to impossible to find fault with this game.  It’s so rich both graphically and feature wise.  I feel like I’m playing something on a full game console only to realize I’m kickin it in a chair waiting for the doc to call my name.  I mean seriously, each level is customized based on which song is playing, the effects and sounds match each level perfectly.  There are so many songs it’s nearly impossible to get sick of the game.  I mean, let’s be real, Tap Tap Revenge 3 is as close to perfect as it gets.  The only thing I can think of that may give newbies trouble is the interface.  All though it’s very logical to a native user, it’s so rich with features and options that it may take a first time user a few minutes to figure out how to actually start playing the game.  However, this is a one time issue, after playing it once everything flows naturally and is pure love after that.  Don’t waste another second snatching this game up.  It’s the bomb!
