Alawar Games released a challenging “seek-and-find” style game for iPhone and iPod Touch. In The Treasures of Mystery Island, you’ll have to keep your eyes peeled as you search for hidden items. This game is full of rich and colorful levels. Methodically comb through these stages as you hunt for lost objects. With 20 thrilling episodes, over 12 mini-games, tons of trophies to earn, and unlimited game time, The Treasures of Mystery Island is one of those games that has a decent amount of replay value.
I was always a huge fan of the “Where’s Waldo” book series. This game has similar game play in that you are carefully scanning through a cluttered scene looking for something specific. One of the main differences though is the fact that the items you are looking for vary. There are five items in each level that you are looking for and each of these is split into multiple pieces – In order to advance you must find all of the pieces to each item. So in a way there are “mini puzzles” you are trying to solve along the way. Another good feature is that you can pinch and zoom-in on areas that you want to further examine. With all the detail in each level, this is a necessary function in order to advance. The game has “hints” that you can use if you ever get stumped.
The game has a fun story line that is geared more towards a younger audience:
The Treasures of Mystery Island:
Alex was making just another routine run across the Atlantic Ocean in his cargo plane when his girlfriend’s lucky talisman started to glow. Moments later, as his ride dove toward choppy waters, he found himself parachuting to the sandy expanse of an uncharted island. When a native rescues Alex, he begins a hidden object adventure that will take him into the heart of a strange island, where hidden treasure and the curse of an angry god await!
Your seek-and-find skills will be challenged as never before as you scour over 30 beautifully detailed locations set in a world time forgot. You’ll need to not only find lost objects but also return them to their proper place in order to get help from the natives. You’ll also have to collect the scattered belongings of 24 clients, beat over a dozen mini-games and earn a slew of trophies as you solve the mystery at the center of Treasure Island!
